WHO I AM: "Photogwoofer" Kelly D. Swedick, born & bred in Illinois, and former resident of New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Hawaii & Virginia. I've lived in Washington for several years - and I'm here to stay! I love the scenery, the climate, the water, the mountains, the city - it doesn't get any better than this!
I've spent several years working and volunteering for various animal shelters, and I've honed my pet portraiture skills along the way. I've also lived with and loved a variety of critters throughout my life: turtles, hamsters, cats, dogs, a chinchilla, a rabbit, & an orphaned baby squirrel, to name a few!
Currently I am a devoted dog-ma to 3 mixed-breed dogs.
Elliot is my wise "Old Soul", a Sheltie?/Corgi?/Dachsund mix. He has been with my husband & I since we found his abandoned litter in an O'ahu parking lot in 1998. He was a wormy, scabby, half-bald gaseous pup at the time. Now he is quite simply loyal, loving, and oh-so-very handsome (despite some persisting male-pattern baldness!).
Ollie is most likely a Corgi/Border Collie combo. He came to an animal shelter via the wilds of rural West Virginia. He was utterly traumatized and unresponsive in his early days at the shelter. He didn't respond to touch, and he wouldn't eat unless he was force-fed. Fortunately a brief stint in a loving foster home brought him out of his shell. He's still a little bit of a worrywart, but that doesn't keep him from chasing elk herds and Rottweilers out of the yard! Ollie is also a little dynamo on the agility course! He's been with us since 2004.
Karly is our latest addition - an Australian Shepherd/Boxer/Pit Bull mix. She was dumped at a shelter by owners who didn't have time for her high-energy, and didn't have patience with her ability to leap tall fences in a single bound! Fortunately our invisible fence keeps her where she is supposed to be when we're out in the yard, and she has learned to channel her jumping skills into snatching high-flying tennis balls out of thin air. She is our cuddliest kid, and also the most outgoing. She's been with us since 2005.
WHO I PHOTOGRAPH: No animal is too large or small or feathery or slithery. Humans are also welcome to join in the fun!
WHAT I DO: My mission is to provide people with meaningful, cherished photographic memories of the animals they love.
WHEN/WHERE: I work with your schedule and your location preferences within the Greater Seattle area. Portrait studios can be very stressful for some pets, so I like to photograph animals in their "comfort zones" - whether that be on the sofa at home, playing at the dog park, or romping on a trail or at the beach.
WHY: Over the years I have encountered many folks who have expressed dissatisfaction with the pictures they have (or don't have) of their beloved pets. It is very rewarding for me to be able to capture not only your animal's physical appearance, but also the qualities and behaviors that personify your animal and separate him from the pack / herd / flock / etc.
HOW: Please contact me via email (RoverExposures@mac.com) or telephone (425.457.1600) to discuss your pet portrait wants & needs, and we'll take it from there!
Thank you for visiting my site!
